Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope is a 1977 Action Sci-Fi film released on 25th May; George Lucas directed the film which stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. A sequel, Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, was released in 1980. The film was a box office success, earning a profit of $764,398,007 on its budget.
Luke Skywalker joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a Wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire's world-destroying battle station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the mysterious Darth Vader.
